In 1775, the expert London enameller Jusen, perfected a distinctly English style of enamelling. It's believed that the profusion of jewels in this remarkable translucent midnight blue began as gift to royals by other royals. Like many others trends of anglomanie this was very fashionable also in France were it was called Bleu Royale.
